I just tried Honest Amish Beard Balm for the first time and wanted to write up a quick review for you. My beard was starting to get into the scratchy stage (~2 weeks), so I needed something to help out with that. I turned to beard balm, and specifically a kind that I hadn’t tried before, but had good ratings.
What You Get When You Order Honest Amish Beard Balm
I like to include this in my product reviews because you never know what you’re going to get when ordering a product. Some companies do nothing besides ship you a product, others go above and beyond to try and set you out on the right foot with their product. I like to point out this section for companies who fall in the later category, because I think it’s important to highlight companies that go above and beyond.
Here is a picture of the contents of my Honest Amish beard balm order:
- Burlap bag to hold my beard balm and care tips card
- Beard care tips card – This card covers what to do if your beard balm has melted during transit, how to apply the beard balm, etc
- Honest Amish Beard Balm
The packing as you can see was quality. I like the look of their brand, I’ve noticed a lot of beard brands going after this style… but hey it’s cool so I can’t hate on it. The burlap baggy is nice to save for transport as well or my wife can reuse it somehow.
Application was extremely easy! I took a dab of the beard balm, swirled it around in my palms till it melted, and then applied on my face. It was extremely easy to do. I think it’s very important to note that my hands were not left feeling nasty and neither was my skin after application. I just rubbed the excess beard balm into my skin.
The beard balm by Honest Amish will definitely make your beard shine…. in a good way. My beard is a slight brown/reddish color, so I quite like the shine. It brings attention to my beard which I’m all for!
The beard balm scent is not strong at all. It smells a bit like a fresh and clean soap. A bit hard to explain however it’s not nasty by any means. There also is a hint of black licorice that I’ve been noticing the more that I wear it. Now trust me, I’m not usually a fan of black licorice, but this actually is subtle enough where it enhances the scent. If you’re looking for something that is not overly strong, and has a nice clean scent this is it.
I always aim for 100% natural skin and hair care products, so naturally I am used to paying a slightly higher price. I paid $16.40 through Amazon for a 2 ounce container with free 2 day shipping.
The Honest Amish Beard Balm is a 100% natural product. It is a proprietary blend of 15 hair strengthening botanicals infused in a base of Argan, Golden Jojoba, virgin avocado, grapeseed, virgin pumpkin seed, and apricot kernel oils. It then is blended with fruit and nut butters such as Shea butter, aloe, cocoa, kokum, and more. It also containers 7 hair enhancing essential oils.
Note: these are the ingredients listed as listed on the package right in front of me. I particularly like that this has Shea butter in it because that helps those of us with patchy beards look thicker!
I always make sure that my beard is damp to wet before applying beard balm, that way it locks in the moisture. I did just the same when applying this and so far a few hours later my beard still feels great. If I run my hands through my beard it feels nice and moist. This won’t be the case for beard balms that use petroleum which is why I am such a fan of 100% natural beard balms that contain ingredients like argan and jojoba oil.
Overall I am more than please with the product and very happy to recommend it to others. If you’re looking to buy Honest Amish Beard Balm, click this link to be taken to Amazon.
